Meet our 2023-2024 SPF Peer Educators!

Ruth Sanchez, Transfer Peer Educator - Student Parent & Families

About Ruth

Hi, fellow Anteaters! My name is Ruth and I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology with a minor in Management. I transferred to UCI after completing my first two years at Santiago Canyon College in Orange as a first-generation low-income student. As an SPF mentor, I am excited to continue giving back to the UCI Transfer Community by providing support and resources to non-traditional students and being a part of making their transition to UCI an enjoyable experience. In my spare time, I love to travel, practice yoga, try new foods, and spend quality time outdoors with my loved ones.

Daisy Gomez, Transfer Peer Educator - Student Parent & Families

About Daisy

Daisy is from Orange County. She is a first-generation student and a student parent. She earned her Associate Degree from Santa Ana College in Social Behavior Science. Her major is Criminology, Law, and Society. During my journey at UCI, the hospitality of the staff and students has made me feel welcome and nurtured a sense of community. Daisy enjoys outdoor activities, including long walks at the beach, hikes, and exploring new dining experiences. As a transfer student, I empathize with the challenges and excitement of transitioning to a new academic environment. I aim to assist fellow students in achieving a seamless transition as they continue their educational journey.
